Two-store family-run independent furniture retailer Peter Green is embarking on a six-figure refurbishment of its Southampton store.
Douglas Bowen, chairman and MD of Peter Green, revealed that this project includes the re-lamping of the 30,000ft2 store with over £71,000 worth of new fitments and bulbs, which will not only portray the furniture and flooring in a balanced natural light but will be nearly 50% more efficient than the existing fittings.
Douglas says: “We have looked carefully at every aspect of the store including layout and product on the floor. The changes being implemented to the interior and exterior will give our store a fresh, modern and spacious feel and provide us with the ideal backdrop to show off our massive array of stock, including the new Peter Green Collection.
“We have recently opened a new Peter Green-branded coffee shop in our Southampton store, and offer ample free car parking for all our customers.
“The path we have embarked on includes substantial investment in advertising and we have been looking at different ways of reaching out to potential customers who have not shopped at Peter Green before. Facebook, radio, Twitter, van wrapping, TV and press and billboards are all being utilised to ensure Peter Green is omnipresent. We have been careful to ensure that our current level of customer service is not only maintained but is constantly being reviewed and improved. We remain a family store with family store values.”
